Two Vital Things That Keep Humans on Their Fitness Journey

Frankly, getting good results isn’t in the top two in my opinion. Louie Simmons used to say, “the brightest stars burn out the fastest.” And, he was referencing the people who come into the gym hot, temporarily motivated, and ready to do twice as much as the next gal or guy.

I’ve seen folks who were the fittest in the gym, doing double days for years, who don’t even workout any more. Instead, I think humans need at least one of the following two things to make a life long gym practice possible:

  1. You’ve got to find yourself learning something new, and/or
  2. You’ve got to be having fun.

It’s a bit of a double-whammy.

It turns out that play is chronically found in the literature as the best environment for learning. As for longevity, fun speaks for itself.

While it’s tough to make hard work fun, we sure as hell give it our best shot and, sometimes, we actually nail it! The learning component is our jam, though. You can come here with your student hat on and learn something new every week for the rest of your life.

I hope you do both!
