It’s never about the money. I say that with deep compassion for hard times, the realities of a challenging economy, and financial overwhelm
Nonetheless, the largest object to being a part of DEUCE Gym is money.
Over the last fifteen years, I can’t count how many people whose membership I’ve paid on my personal credit card (not comped). I wrote an article that went viral back around 2015 making this same point. The article offered that anyone who couldn’t afford the gym could just ask and I would pay for it. It was shared thousands of times and had hundreds of thousands of readers.
The result? Over and over again, almost none of the people who object about price continue when price is removed and of the small percentage of people who do, they quit soon after.
Money works much like time in Hofstadter’s Law, which states that “It always takes longer than you expect, even when you take into account Hofstadter’s Law.” If you’re not spending two hundred bucks at the gym, you’re going to spend it elsewhere.
We’re all making choices with time and money. And, my professional opinion is that you have both the time and the money to do this.
