I generally would claim that life is too short to eat chicken. It’s largely an inferior and uninspiring animal. The likelihood that it was raised and killed humanely is pretty low and, frankly, it’s usually wildly unremarkable from a taste perspective.
I think I believe everything in that paragraph. But, I’m here to offer a more obvious truth and realization.
I’ve hated on chicken for a long time. I’ve made announcements at dinner about how there’s virtually no upside in ordering it as a main dish in public. You get the idea.
I’ve been a snob.
What’s truer than anything I’ve said above is this: I don’t hate chicken. I hate poorly cooked chicken.
And, that’s a metaphor for tons of things beyond your plate. Life is actually too short for anything low effort, low quality, and boring.
Anything can be wonderful if it’s prepared wonderfully. By the way, have I told you about this season that I’ve found?
DAMN.
