Dude, are you really still doing linear time? That Newtonian propaganda is old news. Without going too far down the shame spiral, you realize how much of a bummer it is to subscribe to a linear time model, right?
It’s annoying because in a linear time worldview the past informs your present and then we do the redundant and low performance thing where we carry that into our future – BORING!
Try this on for size!
So, another view is that the past, present, and future all exist in the present. Think about third grade for a moment. Tricked ya! You’ve brought the past into the present moment and, to add insult to injury, you’re probably not even remembering it right. So, now you’re doing a new, 2026 take on third grade and that is very much happening at the moment.
The problem with a linear view of time is that it is true all the time, except when it isn’t. Big, exponential life-shifting moments like medical events or winning the lottery don’t fit the linear time model (that says your past will dictate your future), so why buy into this view when it doesn’t serve you.
Dr. Benjamin Hardy offers to his reader that you can use the future to affect the present in a powerful way that doesn’t subscribe to the linear view of time. His strategy is mostly to put massive urgency on life changing goals by shrinking the amount of time you have to complete them. SEE: the future affects the present moment.
How else could you benefit from the “Holistic Time” worldview?
