Feel like life is just flying by? Well, if you don’t want to miss out on life that seems to accelerate with time, there’s one science backed way to make sure time moves slower for you (especially in adulthood).
Part of the reason you experience the weeks, months, and years seemingly going faster as you age is that each year represents a smaller and smaller percentage of your life’s whole. But, there’s not much you can do about that!
Another reason time seems to move faster is more in our control, however. Most adults have fewer and fewer new and novel experiences. As children, we tend to experience a much more broad spectrum of daily and weekly activities. So much of life is happening for the first time and those sensory inputs make time feel like it’s passing slower!
What can you do this week to “slow down time?”
It’s simple! Add new and novel experiences to your lifestyle. Go to new places, try new things, and do anything that will break you away from the mundane routine that leaves you feeling like time is flying by.
