Memorial Day “Murph”

Memorial Day is a holiday we take to specifically honor those service men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. As a common tradition, we join countless men and women around the world in taking part in a workout posthumously named after a fallen service member name Lt. Michael Murphy.

“Murph” lost his life infamously during Operation Red Wings in the Hindu Kush Mountains in Afghanistan. “Murph” and his teammates Danny Dietz and Matt Axelson were also killed that day. Marcus Luttrell was the only teammate to survive the ordeal. His book, Lone Survivor, recounts the heroic efforts of he and his teammates against an overwhelmingly large Taliban force.

The workout we now know as “Murph” was a favorite of Michael’s. He called it “Body Armor” as he thought it would prepare his body to endure combat overseas.

We invite the public to join us for an important day in the yard to honor the Americans who don’t make it home.

We’ll enjoy food, beverages, and community afterwards. Reserve your heat time here.
