Self Awareness, Meet Group Awareness

The resourcefulness to appreciate what we already have is one lesson, among many, that stay-at-home orders have afforded us throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.  Well, so long as you’ve been open to seeing it as such, this time has provided a rich opportunity for each of you to better navigate conflict by directing attention inward – perhaps not in lieu of, but more so than ordinarily – directing attention outward. A beautiful outcome to this: a collectively more self-aware community.

However, as important as self-awareness is to the overall population – its integration into & towards group awareness is the real application we most critically need.

Like strength, like knowledge, the utility of anything is limited without engagement beyond itself. Remember gamefit? The gig is functional performance, not perception.

So, you wanna contribute to greater group awareness? Look no further than the next time you cross inside the gate at DEUCE..

Simply by acknowledging that others exist and are entitled to a safe & healthy experience here, just as much as you, you’ll be exercising self awareness towards a higher, more useful, (dare I say more meaningful?) expression.
