Complicated Training is a Red Flag

It’s a tale as old as time. Insecure coach (or “trainer) fears not mattering enough to lead straight forward, necessary, highly effective training sessions and gets cute. 

Coaches don’t get people fit… movement does. 

The first sign a coach has lost the plot is when they forget that movement is magic; not the coach. No one can out-coach the effectiveness of a properly loaded barbell on a movement pattern that is as old as time. No one. 

So, if your coach is evangelizing that you need highly specific training that is too complicated for you to understand or if they say literally anything in Latin. It’s likely time for some humility and a new coach. 

This isn’t hard. So, let’s not make it hard.
