Your social media feed (and your ego) is begging you to do more. “Add this to your morning routine!” And, the solutions to most every desirable goal is to do more, optimize, push, and add to your life.
But, what if there was another way?
Frankly, we are doing more and are exposed to more now than ever, which is why the most important nudge you can get might be to do the opposite. What if taking things out of your life was the best way to grow towards your goals.
It’s called “addition by subtraction.”
Want to make more money? Maybe say less to less jobs, not more. This counter intuitive approach can work because having space to be more discerning, build more value, and attract better deals can come instead of the status quo hamster wheel alternative.
This same logic can apply to overtrained, under-recovered people. Maybe take out a couple gym memberships and get more out of one, for example.
Are you a candidate for “addition by subtraction?”
