There’s one general truth in the nutrition habits of gym goers that continues to repeat itself. Though it’s a generalization, it seems appropriate to share that with you.
I’ve observed this simple truth thousands of times in my career.
The most common nutritional truth I tend to observe is that active people in America are underfed and inactive people in America are overfed. If you’re reading this article, the likelihood that you’re overeating is very low.
If you’re strength training and getting after it in the gym, you might be surprised by what consuming more (real) food would do for your health and performance. And, if that’s shocking, keep in mind that being underfed can present as poor body composition, holding onto unwanted body fat, poor recovery, and performance plateaus.
