You Can’t Afford for This to Be a Phase

You heard me. This whole gym thing can’t be a phase you’re going through. In fact, it might be worse to join the gym, make it your identity for a couple of years, and then quit compared to the alternative.

Going hard in the gym for two years isn’t a key to real health.

When it comes to the context of your whole life, you’re going to need to find a way to enroll in quality movement for decades in order to make a meaningful impact on your health. And, guess what? That’s not all bad news!

My message above can be received in two very different ways. On one hand, it could feel like I’ve made two good hard years of training meaningless. On the other hand, we can adjust our aim, settle in, and enjoy the ride. I prefer to hear it as the latter.

Can you see the long play here?
