It’s (Still) Not About the Money

Coming up on ten years in the strength and conditioning world as it interacts with non-athlete consumers, I’ve taken in a great deal of data. Much of the information I’ve taken in when it comes to how consumers avoid or quit training has led me to some beliefs that are only becoming more solidified by the week.

Keep in mind that I’d score my general disposition as a compassionate one. I’ve sponsored more than a dozen “motivated” individuals with my own funds to work around “the money” problem. It’s worth noting that I’m still not rich, and I definitely wasn’t rich then, either. Nonetheless, every time the “money” issue is removed, something else pops up. It’s whack-a-mole of obstructions. Simply put, it’s almost never about the money.

If you or someone you know is resisting a path of fitness in the United States in 2018 because it’s about the money, I’d ask you to reconsider the premises. It’s not about the money.
