Fans vs. Players

I can see how it could be confusing. The fans and the players are in the same arena, after all. Not only are fans and the players themselves in close proximity, they both have their eyes on the same ball. Hell, fans often play dress up to look like players, too. In fact, no one appreciates the work of players more than fans do, right?

The role of player and the role of fan are extremely different, though. Deep down we know that.

Fans fantasize about gear, plot lines, and drama. They show up for the bread and circus because they want to be a part of it. Players, however, show up to work.

Are you a fan of this? Or, are you a player?
