Dearest Horizontal Pulling,
It’s with increasing gratitude that we’re writing to you. So many training programs have ignored you, burned bridges with you, and, to make matters worse, almost no one respects you. Your sister, the pull up, gets all of the attention, of course. So, we wanted to write to say thank you.
In fact, we’ll be doing some bent rows today. Surely, it’s just one way to have you around and we love all your different variations. Thank you for developing upper backs that support healthy shoulders and for getting us strong is often deficient positions so that we can get the bar muscle ups we want or the clean and jerk PR that we want. After all, it’s not your fault that you aren’t a great movement choice for metabolic conditioning. That’s why we like to include you at the right time in the right places.
Anyway, I hope you get included more around the fitness world. You’re a beautiful addition to any program and we aren’t just saying that!
