[VIDEO] Breath Pt. 2 – Apnea

Our newest specialty course, DEUCE Breath & Exposure, includes three unique breath pathways. In this second of three insights, you’ll get a grasp of another important breath practice: apnea training.

If you’ve heard of apnea, it’s usually in a negative context like, “My uncle suffers from terrible sleep apnea.” The reason for this is “apnea” is most literally not breathing. While hopefully you’re breathing (through your nose) while you sleep, there are times when a breath hold can be both intentional and beneficial. ENTER: apnea training.

Thoughtful apnea training helps build our CO2 tolerance, which is critically important to how efficient we are with breath. After all, it’s rarely a lack of oxygen that makes you want to breath, but the lack of tolerance for the CO2 in your system instead.
