Transcending Followership

If yesterday’s post struck you, this is a helpful follow up. If you haven’t yet read yesterday’s post, I’d recommend reading it before the quote below. One who reads the quote below without context of incredible accountability to the role of follower might become the pretend leader we all love to hate. 

Here’s the empowering truth, albeit potentially isolating, truth about stepping into leadership from a notable non-fiction text:

“Men have been taught that it is a virtue to agree with others. But the creator is the man who disagrees. Men have been taught that it is a virtue to swim with the current. But the creator is the man who goes against the current. Men have been taught that it is a virtue to stand together. But the creator is the man who stands alone.” 

Transcend and include follower tendencies, please.
