“Lesson Number One, Meat”

The human condition is full of paradox. At the end of the day, we suffer from the same handful of predicaments. They come in different forms, but if we’d learn more from those who came before us it might save us some heartache.

Here’s sage advice from a great American hero. It’s timely in many contexts, including this one. Crash Davis once said, “Don’t think. It can only hurt the ball club.”

No, you’re not a young pitcher whose overthinking mind undermines his life, but veteran catcher, Crash Davis’, words are still important. Are you swirling? Do you spend your days thinking your way through COVID-19 and all the possible scenarios? Don’t think. We’re not talking about a ball club, but it can only hurt your family, your friends, and your mental sanity.

Calm your mind. Focus on the task at hand.
