“You Can’t Argue with Results”

This might be my good friend Tait Fletcher’s favorite line. It only comes in jest and lathered in sarcasm. It usually comes pointed at those who are unceremoniously getting poor results from their strategies. What he’s getting at with his comment, though, is important. His point is that if we’re engaging in something, albeit a training program or diet or whatever else, we must remember that it’s the result we’re after. Without the desire results, our processes are trivial.

Humans commonly throw up their hands once they’ve done their part by engaging in some sort of process, like a training program, but before securing the results they are seeking. They do so as if to say, “You can’t blame me!”

While you might be doing something positive for yourself by training a new habit, keep in mind that you’re on the hook, not just for the process, but also for the results. After all, you can’t argue with those.
