The Sun’s Out, Fix Your Roof

Part of my new DEUCE Gym lifestyle involves a lot more biking and a lot less driving. I live less than a mile from the gym. Part of that means I get to catch up on old podcasts on the ride to and from home. This morning I heard neurologist, Dr. David Perlmutter, make a brilliant reference. He quoted John F. Kennedy when he said:

“The time to fix the roof is when the sun is shining.”

I almost stopped pedaling. Only a man like JFK could deliver such a potent message in twelve simple words. And, isn’t it so true?

I’d like to believe that we’re supporting a proactive life here. The idea is that we handle our business on the front end, “when the sun is shining,” so that it doesn’t rain at all.. or when it does, we’re prepared.

Let me ask you, is the time to address your shoulder position now? Or, when you’re crippled with injury? Is it best to dive into your movement patterns now or when you’re motivated by a achy foot?

The sun is shining and the time is now. Dial it in.
