Purpose: Be Better

Now that you’ve begun to tackle functional training, you can expect to start seeing some changes in your life. Right away, you may get sore in areas that you aren’t used to in your old training. Also, given commitment and time training, you will probably notice changes (for the better) in your body composition and your ability to perform in the workouts.

T-Man: Performance driven, aesthetically justified

Our concern, however, isn’t your ability to perform the workouts better so much as we are concerned with your ability to perform better in your life. Also, goals pertaining to aesthetics and body composition are both valid and supported at FFOTB, yet they aren’t the focus of our efforts. The amazing adaptations your body makes, the weight you may lose, or the toned muscles you may gain are merely side benefits to our training.

We are training you to be better. The fact that you look and feel better is just a bonus.

So, look around at your life and notice all the places where functional movements show up. Now keep in mind, there wont be kettlebells at work, or med balls in the kitchen– but do know that when you toss that bag of dog food over your shoulder or stand up with that ream of paper, that a clean and a deadlift just showed up in your life outside of class.

We are training you for real life!

Training to look a certain way in a mirror often sets one up for a cycle of failure. There is no end, and there are few victories. I propose that you put your focus in the process, and train to be better. The looking and feeling better part will surely follow suit.
