One Thousand

April 27, 2011 was blog number one. This is number one thousand. To be honest I wouldn’t have even known it until our student and web designer, Mark, reminded me that this was approaching. Two things come to mind in that same breath. We are consumed by an authentic mission here at DEUCE. Our heads are down in the moment in this. Secondly, one thousand of these daily articles are a tangible representation of the day-in-day-out nature of this lifestyle.

Metaphorically, nearly everywhere fitness fails for people is in the misunderstanding of the idea that this isn’t a fun fling or a hole to patch up. Your life is, in fact, your.. life. It shows up everyday whether you’re ready or not. So does this blog.

With the hope of representing an idealistic existence in health and fitness, what would it say if we skipped a day? In many ways, including the blog, DEUCE isn’t front running. It’s not glamorous or easy. It’s not convenient. It, like one’s responsibility to health, can’t afford to waiver. It doesn’t commit, lose steam, and recommit. It’s every.. Damn. Day.

There’s been countless moments here that have literally given me life. Of course, there are numerous late nights with a blank stare and a blank page waiting to be filled but like anything great, this would be nothing if it wasn’t shared with others. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this a place to continue on this journey and swap ideas with you all.
