Movie Night: ‘American Weightlifting’

Greg Everett of Catalyst Athletics has written, directed, and produced ‘American Weightlifting,’ a documentary based on the dynamic surrounding athletes that are making ends meet to compete unceremoniously in a sport that’s largely unrecognized in America. The film sheds light on the beautiful sport of weightlifting and the passion is requires to achieve out-of-this-world performance without out-of-this-world recognition that athletes receive in other sports like basketball, baseball, and football. Movie Night

Who: Open to the public

When: Tuesday December 17th – 8:00 PM

Where: DEUCE Gym (110 Lincoln Blvd. Venice, CA 90291)

Cost: FREE!

In true American weightlifting style, the film comes from humble and modest beginnings, but exceeds any expectations of passion and drive. We thought it’d be a great opportunity to share the film in a social way at the gym because, after all, weightlifting (in part) brings us together in our lives already. Hats off to Greg Everett and Catalyst Athletics for their continued contributions to the world of strength and conditioning.

Also, our friends from Popcornopolis and Kippy’s Ice Cream will be treating movie goers to treats. If you want to make it “Facebook official,” click here.

See you on the 17th!
