Fear Elected Mayor

Fear runs the show in many minds. Just last week I heard a Green Beret member of Delta Force talk about a deployment in which he was responsible for the livelihood of an interpreter. As they walked up to a structure and the sound of machine gun fire the operator looked over to the unarmed interpreter and asked, “Yo, man.. Are you scared?”

“No, I’m not scared,” he replied.

You can check it out to know how the highly decorated soldier was sure to quickly remind him that he was genuinely scared and he had a bag full of explosives, frag grenades, and two firearms while the interpreter had nothing. The interpreter was obviously lying and it blew the soldier away. This extreme moment exposed the insane power of fear over the mind.

This life or death terrifying moment wasn’t enough to overpower this man’s desire to protect how he might be judged by another man. What we need is courage, people. The interpreter’s lie isn’t courage. It’s fear run rampant. Courage opens the door to all positive emotion. If fear is the mayor of your domain, cast a few votes for love instead.
