DEUCE Athletics Invades Hermosa Beach

Look out! Hermosa Beach will now ‘hold the standard’ as DEUCE Athletics expands its coaching-centric strength and conditioning facility on Pacific Coast Highway.

On October 1, 2014, two of our prized young coaches, Ronnie Lopez and Chris Pascual, agreed to an opportunity that would change their lives forever. A family friend of mine, former MLB scout, and college baseball coach needed help. His 15,000 square foot baseball and softball academy in Torrance had a gym in the corner that was underutilized.

After a trip down the 405 South with the boys to visit the space, we agreed to put together a ninety-day trial period. Chris and Ronnie would step up to the plate as head coaches, and the facility would, for the first time, offer quality strength and conditioning. At the end of the ninety-day trial, the athletes, the facility, and Chris and Ronnie were pleased and wished to continue.

This was the birth of DEUCE Athletics. Nearly three years and a one calendar month later, we are please to announce DEUCE Athletics has outgrown its current facility and will move to a brand new, solo gym in Hermosa Beach, CA.

While I’m holding back tears writing this, I haven’t be able to hold back all of the tears associated with this news. I couldn’t be more proud of the way these two gentleman have carried themselves for the past three years. Making an improbable business happen in the back of a batting cage in an anonymous building in the endless industrial maze of Torrance is nothing short of remarkable. Starting November 15th, DEUCE Athletics will be front and center at 600 Pacific Coast Highway. (For those of you keeping score at home, this is exactly 12.2 miles south of DEUCE Garage on the same side of the same street.)

DEUCE Athletics will build GPP in the men and women of all ages that come through the door with unsurpassed instruction, tried and true methods of strength and conditioning, and a culture unknown to mankind.
