Blockchain of the Soul

Blockchain, albeit in the form of currency like Bitcoin or the encryption of files for an application like DropBox, is the world’s newest, most compelling technology. As stated by Algorithm LLC, its value comes, in part, from its ability to keep a perfect historical ledger. It’s this well written bookkeeping characteristic that makes it disruptive for the banking industry by cutting out the need for a middleman (who likes to take his share of every transaction for his monopoly on such transactions).

While this technology is new, the idea has been holding us accountable much longer than we realize. The personal version of blockchain isn’t a new technology at it. It’s your reputation.

Your rich, detailed history is kept iron clan in the words and the thoughts of those around you. The human network might not be exactly like the world wide web, but it’s not far off and the data is out there. And, it’s either helping or hurting your ability to move about the world today.

How’s you ledger look? Whether you like it or not, your previous transactions are coloring your day today. The best thing you can do for your future is to start writing it with how you deal with others today.
