Are You Eating Enough?

This is a general observation that the more fit and active you are, the more likely you are to “clean eat” your way to under-fueling. We tend to teach ourselves and observe that to be healthy means to minimize some nutritional volume. Overweight, out of shape folks would probably tell you that to make progress would mean, in part, to eat less. However, most ultra-fit men and women think they’re consuming enough fuel; few are.

There is a certain amount of fatigue and recovery time needed with intense training, but many fit men and women confuse chronic fatigue and under-fueling as part of the deal. It’s not.

If you’re tired, hungry, and active, you probably need to explore the upper limits of food consumption. You won’t just feel better, you’ll probably perform better, as well.
