2/1/19 - Fully Chew Ideas, Digest Learning

True understanding comes not by looking forward, but, rather, in looking back. Reflection is a powerful tool in any avenue of learning, including movement.

When you leave class and move on with your day does the training you’ve done stay in a container in your mind only to be reopened the next time you’re in the gym? Or, do you find yourself daydreaming of what transpired in the gym? Do you intentionally revisit the things your heard, saw, and felt?

If you’re not reflecting on the learnings that happen in your training, you might not be full internalizing the lessons and motor learning from it. No matter what you’re learning, I urge you not just jump to what’s next or future planning. Go back. See things over again. I want you to fully chew these ideas so you can properly digest the learning.
